LASIK:

Dr. Jimmy Hu performs bladeless, all-laser LASIK with the latest generation Femtosecond and Excimer laser platforms, with Iris-Registration tracking and Contoura topography-guided ablation. Contoura Vision is a topography-guided LASIK treatment that provides a surgeon with much more detailed information on the structure of an individual person’s cornea than prior generations of LASIK technology. A topographer device measures the unique characteristics of each person’s eyes, which Dr. Hu then uses to create a precise, custom, and individualized treatment plan. The goal of topography-guided LASIK is to be even more precise than with previous technologies, to optimize your visual results, and to help avoid night vision side effects such as glare or haloes around lights.

PRK:

PRK is often a great alternative to LASIK for people with dry eyes, are concerned about trauma to the eye, or have anatomically thinner corneas that would not allow for LASIK. Dr. Hu will help you determine which procedure is best fit for your individual needs. During PRK (Photo Refractive Keratectomy), Dr. Hu first uses a sterile alcohol solution to loosen up the epithelium (surface skin cells) on the center of the eye. The cells are then gently removed using a special surgical brush. The excimer laser is then used to ablate a custom-pattern over the eye, reshaping its surface. A contact lens is then placed over the eye to serve as a bandage.

EVO ICL™:

Dr. Jimmy Hu is dedicated to offering patients a complete spectrum of vision correction procedures, customized to every patient’s needs. This includes the EVO ICL™, an advanced vision correction implant that is able to permanently correct moderate or severe nearsightedness and astigmatism. The STAAR EVO ICL™ is an implantable collamer lens, or ICL, which is a small, flexible lens that is inserted into the eye to improve vision. The ICL is made of a soft, biocompatible material that is tolerated well by the eye and does not cause inflammation or irritation.

Clear Lens Exchange (CLE):

Clear lens exchange surgery is a surgical procedure that aims to replace the natural lens of the eye with an artificial one. This procedure is typically done on patients who have developed cataracts or presbyopia, both of which can cause blurry vision and difficulty reading. The physician uses a clear, intra-ocular lens implant custom-made to correct a person’s glasses prescription, and places it inside the eye. Some of these lens implants may be designed with concentric rings that allow the patient to see near, far, and in-between, to reduce the need for reading glasses.
